Where did it all start
Exclusive Car Bows and Covers was started in 2007 by Ezelle van der Walt, to assist her with paying her medical bills due to Cancer. Ezelle was a 3-time Cancer Survivor, and this business carried her through some tough expenses.
In the beginning of 2023, she was diagnosed for a 4th time. This time with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. She appointed a Personal Assistant, her then, soon to be, Daughter-in-Law, Lizet Schutte, to help with all the daily admin, as she was getting too weak to do things herself anymore.
During the beginning of April 2023, she named her oldest son, Rian van der Walt, co-owner. By then she was too weak to do most of the business her self, and had to turn to someone she trusted to keep the business going and her year long clients and friends serviced the best way possible under difficult circumstances.
Unfortunately Ezelle left us to soon for her Heavenly home on 5 June 2023 and will be surely missed.
Rian & Lizet van der Walt took over the business and let her legacy live on.

Special Promotions
This June we celebrate the life of Ezelle van der Walt, the Founder of Exclusive Car Bows. Ezelle started the Small Business in 2007, and through her struggle with 4 times cancer since 2008, just to mention a few things, she was able to pay for her medical expenses with your help. By buying from her. And for that we would like to thank each and every one of you. Sadly, Ezelle got her Angel Wings on 5 June 2023, after losing the battle to her 4th cancer.
Celebration of Life Promotion
To celebrate her life, we will have our largest Promotion of the year, for the month of June, with (5 June 2023) 5 June 2025 the main day of the Promotion. We currently have 14 different styles of Bows and 4 different Styles of Car Covers.
We will have a 5% discount on 13 styles of Bows and 3 Styles of Car Covers. (SJ Bow and Louise Car Cover will be excluded from this offer). Payment will have to reflect in our account BEFORE 27 June 2025

About our Bonnet Bows
Bonnet Bows
- Individually, Hand-Made, to order, from the Finest Taffeta (wedding dress fabric) and our workmanship have to adhere to the highest standards.
- Currently available in sixteen styles. They all look fabulous with and without branding.
- Soft & Lightweight, they are easy to use and will never scratch your cars.
- Available in, but not limited to, Black, Red, Navy & Silver.
About our Car Covers
Individually Hand-Made to order, once again, our standards are sky high. We make sure to hide our seams & you will never have a seam running through the design. We also cut away the corners into a pleasing rounded shape, so you do not have a large rectangular piece of cloth with unsightly extra bits. We have currently four options on the Car Covers.
- The first option – Adele Car Cover - (Since 2007)
- We are using Mini Matt, which is
- extremely durable,
- drapes beautifully,
- is colourfast,
- scratch resistant,
- wrinkle resistant,
- yet is fully washable.
- Available in, but not limited to, Black, & Navy.
- The second option – Zetta Car Cover - (brought back in 2024)
- We are using the Finest Taffeta (same as our popular Bows).
- Soft & Lightweight,
- drapes beautifully,
- is colourfast,
- scratch resistant,
- not wrinkle resistant,
- yet is fully washable.
- Available in, but not limited to, Black, Red, Navy & Silver.
- The third option – Annandi Car Cover - (new in 2025)
- We will be using Satin.
- Soft & Lightweight,
- Stylish & Luxurious,
- drapes beautifully,
- is colourfast,
- scratch resistant,
- yet is fully washable.

- The fourth option – Louise Car Cover - (new in 2025)
- We will be using Scuba Fabric with Sublimination Dye.

Our Process
Our Process is as follows:
- We prepare a Quote according to the information provided
- The client Approve the Quote, with all relevant information needed on the Invoice
- We prepare an Invoice
- For Branded Option:
- As soon as we received the POP for the Full amount, or when arranged with us, for the 50% Deposit:
- The client sends us ALL the information needed for the Branding (Logo’s in PDF or JPEG, as well as all additional wording, colour, etc)
- We send all the Branding information to the Embroiders or the Printer to do the Digitizing. The Digitizing does not always just take a day or two, as our Embroiders and Printers are extremely busy. They forward it to us at their earliest convenience
- We forward the Artwork done by the Embroiders or Printers back to the client for approval
- As soon as the client has Approved the Artwork in writing, we send the fabric to the Embroiders or Printers to start working on the order. They do not get the fabric before we received approval from the client in writting
- The minute we get the fabric with the branding back from the Embroiders or the Printers, we will start working on the order
- For None-Branded Option:
- As soon as we received the POP for the Full amount, or when arranged with us, for the 50% Deposit, the fabric will go to the seamstress to start working on your order
- We keep all our client updated on the progress of their order, on a weekly base
- Depending on the number of orders we get in:
For all orders with Branding, we allow 20-25 working days, as we outsource to Pretoria’s best, and unfortunately, due to all the orders they are getting in most of the time, they are not always able to get work done as fast as they would like. For all work with No Branding, we allow 15-20 working days, especially when we receive orders for colours of fabric that is a bit harder to get hold of from time to time.
- Please keep in mind that every item is hand-made by our one inhouse seamstress and not mass production.
- That is not to say that an order will take this long, as it hardly ever happens, but rather be prepared to wait a little longer and get your order earlier than the other way around!
- As soon as your order is done, we will inform you via email, and request the information needed for all courier purposes. Collection dates and times will also be on this email.
- If you still have an amount outstanding, if you only had to pay a deposit, you would have to pay the remaining amount BEFORE collection / delivery will take place.
- We kindly ask you to forward us pictures of your order, after you have received it, for our marketing purposes.
- You are also welcome to leave a review for us on Facebook or on our website.
Just a reminder that we only order and get our fabric delivery once a week on a Monday. If we missed it this week, it will have to wait for next week Wednesday before we will be able to place the next order.
PS: All quotes are only valid for 30 days, and are there after subject to change due to suppliers price increases, etc.

Rian van der Walt
Owner
Rian van der Walt is the oldest son of the former owner, Ezelle van der Walt. In 2007 he helped his mom to start Exclusive Car Bows, when funds were running low for her Cancer Treatments. He went from Dealership to Dealership, across the country to do marketing for his mom and help finding customers for the new upcoming company. After his mom passed away, he and his wife took over the company and is still going strong, serving their loyal customers. When Rian is not working at Exclusive Car Bows, he is better known as Ryan Walt, the country's Professional Pan Flute Player.
Lizet van der Walt
Co-Owner
Lizet is originally from Lichtenburg, Northwest, where she lived for almost 44 years. She worked at the Ford Dealership for just more than 10 years, in the Accounting Department. From there she moved on to the biggest Panel Shop in town, where she continued her Admin and Accounting journey. When Ezelle got sick again in the beginning of 2023, she moved to Pretoria, to assist her soon to be Mother-in-Law, Ezelle, with Exclusive Car Bows. When Ezelle passed away, Lizet and Rian, Ezelle's oldest son, took over the company. Today she is running the company side-by-side with her husband, Rian van der Walt
Pauline Mokwele
Seamstress
After an 18-month break, we are so happy to welcome back our yearlong Seamstress, Pauline Mokwele. Pauline started with Ezelle in 2014, at Exclusive Car Bows, as the most important person in the Company. The Seamstress. Pauline has the most experience in our Bow & Cover making of everyone ever worked at the company, and if you ever bought a Bow from Ezelle in the past, you can be sure that Pauline had something to do with the making of the item. She has almost 10 Years experience in our Bows & Covers, works very efficiently, fast and her work has always been Top Quality. Pauline might have taken a break from Bow & Cover making from May 2023, but now, as of 1 February 2025, she is back with Exclusive Car Bows. Ready to jump in and deliver the best quality items. And we can assure you that every item you buy from us will be hand-made, with love and care, by the best in the industry.
